WHY WE’RE UPDATING OUR PROGRAM REFUND POLICY: We’ve continued to experience challenges with program withdrawals near or at the program start date. As a result, some programs have unfilled spots while waitlisted customers miss the chance to join. This update aims to encourage early withdrawal thereby providing waitlisted customers a better chance to join and ensuring available spots are filled. IF WE CANCEL A PROGRAM – A full refund will be processed or applied to your Customer Account. MEDICAL REFUND REQUESTS – Requests must be accompanied with a medical certificate and received prior to the end of the program. Some exceptions may apply. CLASS TRANSFER POLICY – Class transfers may be possible based on availability. All class transfers follow the cancellation/refund policy.

All programs and camps promote a fun, safe, active, inclusive and positive environment for children where they are valued and respected. Our goal is that at the end of the program your child will have truly enjoyed their experience. We look forward to meeting you all! Emails & Program Communication Our team will email program-specific details and any required information approx. one week before the program start date. Please ensure the email address on your Xplor Recreation account is current and accurate. Emails will be sent from: childrens@mapleridge.ca or directly from our programming contractors. Code of Conduct Our programs promote a fun, safe, active, inclusive and positive environment where everyone is valued and respected. Participants are expected to be courteous and respectful at camp. Acts of verbal or physical aggression towards other participants and or staff may result in immediate pick up or removal from the program. Participants must stay with the group at all times. Lost & Found We are not responsible for items that are lost, stolen, or damaged. Please label all your child’s belongings. Lost and found items will be kept on site for 2 weeks. Food items and personal garments cannot be kept. Technology Our programs are a tech-free zone. If you require your child to have a tech device in program, place contact: childrens@mapleridge.ca in advance. Allergy Aware Snack and lunch items with peanuts/tree nuts are not permitted in programs. Inclement Weather We follow all provincial and local air quality and heat advisories. Cancellations and modifications will be communicated the morning of via phone and email. Toileting All participants attending programs must be able to use the washroom independently. This includes cleaning themselves after toilet use, pulling up and buttoning pants, hand washing and changing clothes if needed.

RECREATION SUPPORT IN SUMMER CAMPS The City of Maple Ridge offers support workers for children (3-12Y) with individual support needs within programs. Support workers are funded through the Ministry of Children and Families CYSN program or Supported Child Development. Families who are not eligible for a funded support worker may provide their own support caregiver (External Support Worker) within day camps. Permissions for an external support worker in day camps must be submitted to recsupport@mapleridge.ca 4 weeks prior to program start dates . How to Request a Funded Support Worker:

Email the Recreation Support team at recsupport@mapleridge.ca to request a support worker and determine your child’s eligibility for funding. The Recreation Support team will follow up with the necessary information and documents required to proceed. Once all documentation has been reviewed and funding is approved, the Recreation Support team will coordinate support staffing, confirm program availability, and finalize your child’s registration.

Join us for a single day or the entire week - each day offers a new adventure! This action-packed camp offers a blend of engaging activities, fun friendly games, outdoor exploration, and creative arts. Whether you are into active play, nature or art, there is something for everyone to enjoy! Tuesday & Thursday - Participants 8Y+ will be swimming at the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre pool. An alternative activity will be planned for participants 6-7Y. Campers will become true explorers, discovering the hidden gems of Albion as they venture through local parks near the Albion Community Centre. We will wrap up the week with a Fun Friday field trip, heading to a new adventure spot each week. • Tuesday: Pick up only at Albion Sports Complex. • Friday: Camp will embark on a fun out-trip on Friday’s! FILM CAMP IN A BOX CAMP - LEGO® STOPMOTION ANIMATION Age: 7Y-12Y Fill your week with action, adventure and a lot of comedy with Film Camp in A Box LEGO® animation camp. Mentored by master filmmakers, campers will engage in hands-on exploration of the stop motion animation process, including pre-production, production and post-production. Working in small crews, they will learn about stop motion animation, set design, script writing and editing. Campers will then create their own stop motion animation and edit a short film and movie trailer, using their own LEGO® and other figures, complete with sound effects, music, voice, sound effects and special effects. POTTERY WHEEL BONANZA Age: 11Y-15Y Take a spin on the wheel in this wheel throwing camp for older students. This class is suitable for both beginners and for returning pottery enthusiasts. Students will be encouraged to focus on shape and technique development and only fire their best work. Visit us at the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre (11925 Haney Place) during public swim times for a free lesson evaluation. Just ask Customer Experience at the front desk and they will connect you with our Aquatics Team! Anyone under the age of 8 will need an adult 16 years or older in the water with them during the evaluation.
