FILM CAMP IN A BOX CAMP - LEGO® STOPMOTION ANIMATION Age: 7Y-12Y Fill your week with action, adventure and a lot of comedy with Film Camp in A Box LEGO® animation camp. Mentored by master filmmakers, campers will engage in hands-on exploration of the stop motion animation process, including pre-production, production and post-production. Working in small crews, they will learn about stop motion animation, set design, script writing and editing. Campers will then create their own stop motion animation and edit a short film and movie trailer, using their own LEGO® and other figures, complete with sound effects, music, voice, sound effects and special effects. Get ready for a sticky, slimy adventure featuring everyone’s favorite gooey substance - slime! From making different types of slime to exploring the science behind it, this program is packed with messy, creative fun and exciting learning experiences. Whether they are complete beginners or already excited about sewing, each participant is supported at their own pace. Throughout the week, participants are introduced to the sewing machine in a safe and approachable way, while discovering different types of fabrics and techniques. Step by step, they will bring their projects to life, completing a selection of seasonal pieces such as a tote bag, a lightweight top or cover-up, and a summer accessory like a hat. Participants will: Build confidence using a sewing machine safely, learn how to read and follow simple patterns, practice measuring, cutting, and preparing fabric, create wearable pieces and useful accessories, personalize their projects with colours, textures, and creative details. An introduction to the exciting world of 3d printing! participants will make their own projects using a 3d printer. They will also do 3D design with Tinker CAD, a fun and intuitive app that introduces them to computer aided design. No prior experience is required. participants do not need their own 3D printer. The world around us has more to offer than often meets the eye. In this program participants will explore their outdoor surroundings and practice different forms such drawing, journaling, and exploring. Through active games, dramatic play and nature walks, participants will get their creative juices flowing for this adventure in art and nature. This program is offered in partnership with MetroVancouver.
