HOCKEY SKILLS DEVELOPMENT CAMP Age: 9Y-12Y Come learn skating and hockey fundamentals in a fun and non-competitive environment! This program focuses on individual development and is intended for minor hockey players who are eager to improve their technical skills and good hockey habits. Program is not intended for rep players and is not a learn to skate program. Off ice dryland activities will be provided as well as adequate breaks and non sport activities to best suit participants. All participants must have full hockey gear and sticks. Athletes will be placed on a team of 10, competing with their team to rise up the camp leaderboard. This clinic is led by National Team athletes, Olympians, and emerging leaders utilizing fun competitions to promote learning and passion for the sport. Equipment will not be provided. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the foundations of volleyball, developing skills such as forearm passing, setting, spiking, and serving! Cougars’ Volleyball has been serving the Maple Ridge Community since 2020, aiming to teach athletes to value one another, but also value our community and to take the initiative to lead the charge in improving our community as a whole and not just on the court. Our coaches aim to create an environment that is safe, inclusive, and most importantly fun and enjoyable for each athlete. We pride ourselves on creating a healthy team/ group dynamic but also caring for everyone’s needs and goal setting.

Learn kayak and canoe paddling in a fun and safe environment on Whonnock Lake. Learn basic skills of water safety, posture, stroke technique, coordination and balance in recreational kayaks and canoes. A variety of outdoor games and activities are included in the camp. Participants are briefly introduced to racing kayaks and canoes. Ridge Canoe and Kayak Club provide adaptive equipment to aid participants of all abilities to experience paddling. All participants will be offered a free club membership for the remainder of the year.
