CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY IF WE CANCEL A PROGRAM - A full refund will be processed or applied to your Customer Account. CUSTOMER REFUND REQUESTS - Refunds will be issued prior to the start date of the second class and will be pro-rated. Non-attendance without notification is not accepted as a refund request. Single day programs must give 24 hours notice or no refund will be issued. MEDICAL REFUND REQUESTS - Requests must be accompanied with a medical certificate and received prior to the end of the program. Some exceptions may apply, See program receipt. CLASS TRANSFER POLICY - A class transfer may be possible based on availability, prior to the start of the second class. RECREATION ACCESS

The City of Maple Ridge endeavors to make recreation accessible and affordable for all residents. We recognize individual differences and strive to offer a number of programs and services designed to address recreation barriers. The City of Maple Ridge's ongoing commitment is to ensure there are opportunities and services available to meet your individual goals and needs. FINANCIAL ACCESS | MAPLERIDGE.CA/1465 1. Our Access Pass is available to residents of the City of Maple Ridge, and offers reduced admission and program fees to Parks, Recreation and Culture Services. 2. Canadian Tire Jumpstart is a national charitable program that helps kids ages 4 to 18 participate in organized sports and recreation. 3. Learn about KidSport BC , a community based funding program that provides grants up to a maximum of $400 to help with the cost of registration fees for children 18 years and younger to participate in community sports. PERSONALIZED SUPPORT SERVICES | MAPLERIDGE.CA/2429 1. The Leisure Access program is available to our customers who require 1:1 support when participating in activities at the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre. Customers pay the admission fee associated with their activity while the person supporting our customer does not pay. 2. The Ridge Meadows Seniors Society is a not-for-profit registered charity that provides a wide range of on-going recreational, social educational, health and social service programs for seniors 55+ within our community. 2. FACILITY & EQUIPMENT The fitness centre is located upstairs in the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre and includes: cardio and strength equipment, a variety of core and balance accessories and a stretch space. In addition, the Fitness Centre also includes a spin studio and racquetball/squash courts.

Please Note | Open Gym is for all activities! If you’re looking to play volleyball, soccer and more – this gymnasium time is for you. Bring a friend or your family! The gymnasium during Open Gym is a multiuse shared space and not intended for team/sport training. Sessions may be unsupervised and requires all patrons to follow facility guidelines and etiquette. HOCKEY + SKATE LESSONS

LESSON DESCRIPTIONS PARENT & TOT 2Y-5Y (8 SESSIONS - $80) LEVEL 1 Participants will be introduced to the ice and the arena environment. Our Instructor will guide parents on how to teach the basic fundamentals of standing, falling, walking and how to make their child’s first experiences on the ice rewarding.

LEVEL 2 Participants must have completed Parent & Tot Level 1 or be able to stand up on the ice unassisted. Child will learn basic fundamentals around balance and forward skating.

PRESCHOOL 3Y-5Y, SCHOOL AGE 6Y-13Y (8 SESSIONS - $80) TEEN & ADULT (8 SESSIONS - $80) LEVEL 1 LEVEL 3 Participants must have completed

LEVEL 5 Skaters must have completed Level 4 or be able to perform forward crossovers and backward gliding. Our instructor will develop backward crossovers and backward stopping, while introducing edge control, mohawk turns and parallel stopping. LEVEL 6 Skaters must have completed Level 5 or be able to perform backward crossovers and backward stopping. Our Instructor will develop edge control, mohawk turns and parallel stopping. This level will introduce two- foot spins, waltz jumps and 3-turns.

No on-ice experience/cannot stand unassisted. Develop balance and posture and be introduced to forward skating, gliding and stopping. LEVEL 2 Participants must have passed Level 1 or be able to stand and walk on the ice unassisted. Develop forward skating and stopping, gliding on one foot and backward skating will be introduced.

Level 2 or be able to skate with strides the width of the ice. Our instructor will develop gliding on one foot and backward skating while introducing such skills as forward crossovers and backwards gliding. LEVEL 4 Skaters must have completed Level 3 or be able to glide on one foot (3 counts) and skate backwards. This programwill develop forward crossovers and backwards gliding. Backwards crossovers and backwards stopping will be introduced.

LEARN TO - HOCKEY (8 SESSIONS - $80)

MIGHTY DUCKS 4Y - 5Y Introductory hockey programs that place emphasis on skating, puck skills and FUN! Participants should have completed level 1 skating and be able to skate the width of the rink on their own.

ICE DEMONS 6Y - 8Y This is an intro to hockey skating and puck handling skills. This is for the hockey player who has completed the preschool levels, Child 1 or can skate the width of the rink.

IMPORTANT! When on the ice, children and adults are required to wear skates and CSA approved hockey helmet. Children must be accompanied by an adult for parent and tot lessons. For hockey lessons, a CSA approved hockey helmet with face cage, hockey skates, hockey gloves and stick are required.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO RENT A FACILITY? Rentals costs are determined by a variety of variables including size, location, event type etc. Please speak to our booking staff and we can help you find the best fit for your event and budget. DO I NEED TO PROVIDE A DAMAGE DEPOSIT AND HOW MUCH IS IT? Most bookings require a damage deposit which is refundable within two weeks after your event. The amount varies depending on risk factors i.e. a child’s birthday party versus a large scale event with alcohol. IS INSURANCE REQUIRED? Yes, insurance is required for all rentals with the exception of private meetings with less than 100 people and picnic shelters with less than 75 people attending. WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY? Cancellations must be made two weeks in advance of booking or 50% of the rental will be charged with the exception of weddings. Cancellations not made at least 48 hours in advance of the bookings will result in the total amount of the rental being charged.

SIMPLE RULES FOR HEALTHY & SAFE POOLS

SHOWER BEFORE YOU SWIM Have a cleansing shower to help keep our pools clean! Personal grooming products, daily dirt and other contaminants affect water quality, community health and disinfectant use.

PHOTOGRAPHIC DEVICES Please refrain fromusing any photographic device in all areas of the facility. Photos in pool area may be permitted with permission from staff, so please ask before you snap.

WEAR DECK SHOES Anything that ends up on the deck ends up in the pools. Please change into clean deck shoes or walk barefooted for your visit.

FOOD-FREE ZONE Only water is permitted on the pool deck. Don’t forget your reusable, non-glass drinking containers.

STAY HOME IF YOU’RE SICK Sharing is not always caring, especially when it comes to germs! If you are not well or have experienced diarrhea recently, please stay home.

WEAR PROPER ATTIRE Proper bathing attire is required in our pool areas (swim shorts, one or two piece suits, rash guards and lifejackets). Full body suits should be snug fitting and made of a lightweight, lycra fabric.

PREVENT POOL FOULING All swimmers are encouraged to visit the washroom before entering the pools. Proper attire for those with incontinence or infant/toddlers is important to contain accidental fouling of the pool water. Infants and toddlers should wear pool diapers only – no regular diapers are permitted. Swimdiapers can be purchased at our front desk.

RED CROSS SWIM PRESCHOOL LESSONS

8-LEVEL PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN 4 MONTHS TO 6 YEARS OF AGE Give your child the gift of aquatic fun and swimming at an early age. Songs, games and introductory swimming skills will make your child comfortable and happy in the water. Each level is built around an aquatic animal mascot, which makes lessons engaging and fun. The Instructor uses progressive teaching techniques adapted to each child and provides constant feedback and encouragement.

PARENT PARTICIPATION LEVELS These levels are participation-based only. These levels require parent participation.

SWIM LESSON DESCRIPTIONS

Orientation to the water for babies and their parent/caregiver. Babies will learn buoyancy and movement through songs and play in the water. Orientation to the water for toddlers and their parent/caregiver as a continuation of skills learned in Starfish, or a beginning level. Swimmers will learn movements through water through fun games and songs. Classes will be a learning centered environment allowing participants to learn skills important to them. SMART TO START – For children 9Y-12Y just starting out in swimming lessons. Focus will be on the first four levels of the Swim Kids Program.

SMART TEEN – This course is designed for the specific needs of beginning swimmers in the 13Y-18Y age group. Positive experiences in the water and beginning swimming skills are focused on in this level. FAMILY LESSONS (Leisure or Teach Pool) – Looking for something where both children and their parent(s) can learn at the same time? Introducing Family Lessons! ALBION COMMUNITY CENTRE

ALBION COMMUNITY CENTRE The Albion Community Centre (ACC) is opening soon, with its first ever programs and activities starting in the Spring! The ACC is a 20,000 square foot, multi- use community centre co-located with c̓əsqənelə Elementary at 104 Avenue and 240 Street. SOCIAL HEART LOBBY When you enter the ACC’s front doors, you’ll find yourself in the social heart of the building. The wood accents, high ceilings and earthy tones welcome users with a contemporary, bright aesthetic that nods to the surrounding nature. This lobby area is the epicentre of all the ACC has to offer—you can visit the Customer Experience desk, view future art displays and connect with your neighbours.

MULTI-USE ROOMS The ACC has three multi-use rooms that are outfitted for a wide variety of recreational, cultural and arts programming. Multi-Use 3 has a view of the nearby elementary school and is equipped with a sink, plenty of cabinetry and an easy-to-clean floor that can handle mess from arts and children’s programming. Multi- Use 1 and 2 are separated by a moveable divider so it can be used as one large room or two smaller rooms. The floors are suited for group fitness classes, social programs and other programming for all ages. The back walls of both rooms are lined with windows that give a view of the trail system and can open on sunny days.

TEACHING KITCHEN With three service windows that open to the social heart lobby, outdoors and Great Hall, this kitchen is equipped to serve the entire facility in more ways than one. The space is perfect for both culinary programming and for providing food and drink during events!

GREAT HALL The Great Hall features angled, wooden ceiling beams, multi-purpose floors, a moveable stage and built-in sound system. This space can host up to 300 people at a time for events, conferences, plays, and performances, but can also be used for recreational programming. The floors are even lined with three courts suited for sports like pickleball and badminton! With access to the kitchen through a service window and a garage door that opens to the outdoor amphitheatre, the Great Hall holds the potential to become a venue of choice for residents and visitors alike. OUTDOOR AMPHITHEATRE Perfect for outdoor performances and events in the warmer months, the Outdoor Amphitheatre is an exciting new addition for our arts community. The concrete seating area and direct access to the surrounding trail system can also be explored during children’s and youth programming. DEDICATED CHILDCARE SPACE The ACC includes a dedicated childcare space that will offer licensed care for children 3Y-5Y. This space includes a nap room, plenty of windows with view to the neighbouring elementary school and an outdoor, covered play area.
