Drawing and Painting Age: 7Y-10Y

In these sessions, students will work with pencil and charcoal mediums, tempera and watercolour paints, coloured pencils, chalk and oil pastels, as well as pen and ink on various paper types. Some mixed-media and collage techniques will be explored. Detailed demonstrations and step-by-step instructions from teacher Oksana Slonevskaya will guide students to try various styles and techniques of art creation. Students will learn some art vocabulary, art history, and will be encouraged to experiment and make their own choices on composition, shape, and colour. Inspirational ideas will be based on world renowned artists! No previous experience, required (open to all levels). Hand Building Clay Art for Children (Age 6Y-10Y) Age: 6Y-10Y

"Hand Building" is working with clay using your hands and some simple tools. In this fun clay class, students will be introduced to techniques like slab work, coil work and pinch work. Using these techniques along with their imagination and creativity, students will create their own functional and sculptural art pieces like clay animals, pen stands, bowls and candle holders which will be then glazed and fired in our kiln. No previous working with clay is required. Tied long hair and closed-toe shoes are recommended in the studio. Students can bring their own apron if they wish.
