Shibori and Tie-dye Fabric Dyeing Age: 8Y-12Y

In this course children will learn how to dye fabric and create colourful patterns using Japanese Shibori dyeing techniques and a variety of tie-dye methods. Children will explore different ways of folding, pleating, wrapping, tying, and clamping fabrics, as well as learn about colour theory in order to produce unique designs! Children will start experimenting on rice paper and move to fabric, and they will have the opportunity to make t-shirts, bandana, and a drawstring backpack.
