BEGINNER POTTERY WHEEL-THROWING Age: 18Y+ Shape your creative potential in this pottery program perfect for beginners! Students will learn the foundational steps for throwing clay on the pottery wheel. The instructor will provide demonstrations and support to shape and trim bowls and cups; practice glazing techniques and prepare works for kiln firing. Hand-building techniques will also be offered to those students interested. No experience necessary! Please note: Clay must be purchased for an additional fee (price varies according to clay, including glazing and firing). This class is intended for new students with little or no prior experience. While returning students are welcome to enroll, priority will be granted to new participants. In the event of a waitlist, returning students may be contacted to accommodate new students due to high demand. FRIDAY NIGHT CLAY JAM Age: 18Y+ Create forms for the kitchen & home with some new flare with great tunes, and a mix of styles and demonstrations for a fabulous evening immersed in clay. This class is best suited to returning potters who may be returning to basic prototyping of clay vessels but also will have more involved demonstrations with multicomponent vessels like sugar pots, tea pots, pots that stack and techniques to glaze and create unique surfaces. Handbuilding in various making methods as well as music by request! To get the most out of this program, please plan on attending all classes. MINDFUL POTTERY: HAND-BUILDING & WHEEL-THROWING Age: 18Y+ Start your day with a class designed to nourish both your creativity and your nervous system. Mindful Pottery blends calming music with intentional making, inviting you to slow down and truly enjoy the process. We focus less on the final piece and more on the grounding experience of working with clay. This all-levels class encourages you to explore both wheel-throwing and hand-building, learning to work with the clay rather than against it. Each session supports presence, curiosity, and gentle skill-building at a relaxed, supportive pace. A peaceful way to begin the week. With a combination of directed and self-directed projects, you will create intentional, functional vessels for everyday use, or sculptural/ figurative ceramics, to bring art into your everyday life. INTRO TO CLAY - FUNDAMENTALS OF POTTERY Age: 18Y+ Through weekly demonstrations you will learn techniques to establish your own approach to clay. Learn fundamentals of making with clay, on & off the pottery wheel. Explore colour and surface and sweet tricks for glaze application.
