MEET AVA CHILDREN'S STAFF

What’s your passion and how do you bring it to work? I am passionate about inclusion and compassion and incorporating these two things in the programs as much as possible, whether it’s in games, circle discussions, or just talking with children individually. I am also happy when I am able to incorporate my passionforartandencouragecreativityinthechildren. What’s something the children of Maple Ridge have taught you? Theyhavetaughtmeaboutpatience,observation, and how to truly have fun again! If youcouldgiveonepieceof advice tosomeone wanting towork in this field, what would it be? The children you will meet deserve your utmost patience and engagement. It is very important that you have a passion for workingwith children and are willing to be there for them, through every up and every down.  

How long have you been involved with Children’s Recreation? Since spring 2019. What got you interested in working with children in Maple Ridge? I have always loved being around, playing with, and supporting children, so I was eager to find a good job where I could work with children while going to school. Myolder sister and some friends were/are involved in Children’s Recreation and had nothing but positive things to say, so I was inspired to take on the job.  What inspires you about the children you work with? Their kindness, positivity, and their unique and naive way they see the world.
