How long have you been involved with Youth Services? I have worked in youth services for three years. What got you interested in working with young people in Maple Ridge? I enjoy being able to be a positive influence on young people in our community and to get to teach them things and learn things from them in return. What inspires you about the youth you work with? I have had the opportunity to meet some very resilient young people in our community. The obstacles they have faced and the difficulties they have been able to overcome continues to amaze me. What’s your passion and how do you bring it to work? I enjoy being outside – hiking and rock climbing. Our annual week long hiking trip to Lake Lovely Water with youth and the rock wall in the Greg Moore Youth Center allow me to share my passions for climbing and being outdoors with youth in our community. What’s something the youth of Maple Ridge have taught you? The youth of Maple Ridge have taught me that your perspective and attitude are the most important things – not your circumstance. If you could give one piece of advice to emerging adults and youth, what would it be? A little bit of kindness goes a long way!
