Students will explore animation principles as they experiment with timing, follow through, exaggeration, anticipations and squash and stretch as we create characters and bring them to life. We will explore simple walk cycles, expression changes and storytelling as we animate using computers. Students will experiment with free hand computer drawing, photo manipulations, typography, and video manipulations, as we use computers to create digital art. It allows students to control digital animations with physical interactions using moving objects seen through a camera. Video sensing allows us to see virtual characters overlaid on the real world context, which encourages students to create imaginative stories or interactive games. Programming interactive animations connects students between the physical and digital worlds. In this course, students will explore diverse art and artist as they investigate some of the elements and principles of art. Three dimensional forms will be explored. They will experiment with mixed media drawing and painting, and examine material, shape, space, texture, and color. Students will be encouraged to apply personal inspirations and influences on their art creation process as they develop skills and build confidence. All levels of artists are welcome to attend. All supplies included. Students will write scripts, design, and develop characters, plots, settings, conflicts, and climax resolutions. They will also study composition for panels, draw characters, settings, sketch actions and dialogues. The instructor will also teach students about calligraphy, typefaces and sound effects for speech balloons and captions. All levels of art students are encouraged to attend! All supplies included.
