MAPLE RIDGE MUSEUM
THE INTERNMENT OF MAPLE RIDGE JAPANESE CANADIANS In 1942, over 20 000 Japanese Canadians were forcibly uprooted from their homes, including 300 families from Maple Ridge. The exhibition shares the history of Maple Ridge’s Japanese Canadian community through objects, historical images and the stories of various Japanese Canadian families.

Museum on the Move brings free, accessible, and inclusive museum learning to all corners of Maple Ridge. The goal of this project is to bring the museum’s stories and programs to the residents and visitors of our city by setting up a mini “pop-up” museum in locations that are frequented by the public as they go about their usual activities.
