DEPARTMENT OVERVIEWS

Information Technology

The Information Technology department ensures that the City’s infrastructure and enterprise applications are built, maintained, and secured to enable streamlined and efficient municipal operations. The department also supports transparency, accountability, and data-based decision making by providing access to data sets and interactive maps. Services include technical support, cyber security, enterprise application administration and maintenance, network infrastructure administration and maintenance, GIS services and data management and availability.

Legislative Services The Legislative Services department provides transparent, unbiased support and advice to elected officials, staff, and the public. Staff provide the legal framework for the organization through the drafting and reviewing of bylaws and policies. Services include coordinating legal referrals, administrative support to City Council, records management, privacy legislation compliance and FOI requests, conducting elections and by-elections, and providing guidance to City departments pertaining to legislation and Council meeting procedures.
