ASSISTED SUPPORT IN SPRING BREAK CAMPS FOR CHILDREN WITH INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT NEEDS (3Y-12Y) The City of Maple Ridge offers support workers for children with individual support needs within day camp programs. Support workers are funded through the Ministry of Children and Families CYSN program or Supported Child Development. Families who are not eligible for a funded support worker may provide their own support caregiver (External Support Worker) within day camps. Permissions for personal external workers in day camps must be submitted 2 weeks prior to camp start dates.

STEPS TO RECEIVE A FUNDED SUPPORT STAFF STEPS FOR EXTERNAL SUPPORT WORKERS:

Contact recsupport@mapleridge.ca and request permission for a family provided External Support Worker to support your child in day camp. A External Support Package will be emailed to you from recsupport@mapleridge.ca to complete and return. Your child will be registered in a day camp by our program supervisors once an external support worker is approved & confirmed.

CAMP CHECKLIST PEANUT/TREE NUT FREE LUNCH AND SNACKS REUSABLE WATER BOTTLE COMFORTABLE CLOTHING AND RUNNING SHOES (NO FLIP FLOPS AND CROCS) WEATHER APPROPRIATE CLOTHING (RAIN JACKET, SUNGLASSES, HAT, ETC) EXTRA CHANGE OF CLOTHES SWIM SUIT AND TOWEL (RIDGE ROAMERS ONLY) PLEASE LABEL YOUR CHILD’S BELONGINGS WITH THEIR FIRST AND LAST NAME. Contact recsupport@mapleridge.ca to request a support worker and determine if your child is eligible for a funded support staff for day camps. A Child Support Package which will be emailed to you from recsupport@mapleridge.ca complete the package and return to recsupport@ mapleridge.ca for review. Your child will be registered in a day camp by our program supervisors and a support staff will be provided to support your child for their approved funded days.
