Throwing 101 Age: 16Y and up

Pottery Surface Design Age: 16Y and up

In this two-day weekend workshop, students will perfect the foundational steps of creating pots on a wheel: how to wedge clay, center it, and pull and shape a basic clay cylinder. The skills you develop here will support future pottery classes. Clay provided. Pots will not be fired or finished. Location: The ACT Discover a multitude of surface treatments for the plastic and leather hard stages of pottery in this fun and informative two-day workshop. Learn different approaches to texturing and the many interesting materials you can use to create exciting effects. The workshop is suitable for both wheel thrown and hand built work. Bring a few leather hard pieces and any stamps, brushes, textures, rollers, etc. that you’d like to experiment with.
