Spring Program Guide 2020

Residents in the Albion area have been gathering together to host annual block parties and other events (like the Bear Aware program) over the past five years, which contributes to developing a vibrant neighbourhood and community. The annual block party creates a comfortable place for neighbours to mingle and develop lasting relationships. It started with multiple individuals on various streets planning separate events during the spring and summer months and has since amalgamated to one large event that attracts approximately 1,000 residents and families each year. The Albion Area Block Party provides opportunities for all ages to connect and build relationships while getting to know new families and residents. Neighbours and friends play games, participate in a bike parade, listen to live entertainment, play mini golf, sit around the BBQ and join in a water fight with the Maple Ridge Fire Department. The fundamental principle of creating a sense of belonging in the neighbourhood is evident in Albion as the block party continues to grow and bring more residents together. The Neighbourhood Small Grant Program helps build community and strengthen connections in the places we call home by helping to put your ideas into action.
