Handbuilding and Sculpting Pottery Classes for Adults Age: 16Y and up In this course, students will have the opportunity to take their art to the next level by learning and exploring hand building techniques such as pinching, pressing, coiling, and building with soft slabs of clay. Students will be challenging their own skill sets while creating cups, plates, tile murals and relief sculptures. Continuing Potters Age: 16Y and up
Practice and deepen your skill set on the pottery wheel with new techniques and demonstrations. Experiment with multi component pieces, surface treatments and glaze application methods/ troubleshooting will also be covered. Students are expected to be able to throw a 4 inch cylinder somewhat independently to obtain the best results from this class. Adult Beginner Pottery Age: 16Y and up
In this beginner course, students will learn the foundational steps of throwing clay on a pottery wheel! Learn how to wedge clay, center it, and pull and shape bowls and cups. Students will learn how to trim their work, prepare for firing, as well as glazing techniques. No experience necessary!
