Computer Visual Arts Age: 8Y-12Y

In these Media Arts classes, we will explore diverse art and artists as we investigate some of the elements and principals of Art and Design using computers. Students will experiment with free hand computer drawing, photo manipulations, typography, and video manipulations, as we use computers to create digital art. Comics can tell stories with humour, adventure, sports, cooking, or even autobiographical stories about their own life. Students will learn how to develop their own unique style, and the digital tools used by many artists to write, draw, and colour their own comics. Students will use photoshop and pull from a variety of digital materials while learning to cut out,and blend the images into one inspiring image. In this course, students will learn slab, pinching, and coil techniques to make functional cups, bowls, and plates, as well as cool, creative sculptures. Students will also experience using the pottery wheel. Students will finish their projects with colorful glazes or paint. All supplies included. Pottery for Teens Age: 13Y-16Y

This "teen only" session gives youth the chance to get creative with their peers. Working on the wheel and on handbuilding projects, expand your skills and discover how to decorate and glaze your work.
