CHILD AND YOUTH Comic Book Creations Age: 8Y-14Y

Inspired by storytellers, graphic novelists, writers, and artists from around the world, this class will examine comic book creations. Students will write scripts, design and develop characters, plots, settings, conflicts and climax resolutions. They will also study composition for panels, draw characters, settings, sketch actions and dialogues. The instructor will also teach students about calligraphy, typefaces and sound effects for speech balloons and captions. All levels of art students are encouraged to attend! All supplies included. Instructor: TBA Location: The ACT Fee: $110 | Sessions: 8 Th 3:00PM-4:30PM Jan 12-Mar 2 #44490 In these sessions, students will work with pencil and charcoal mediums, tempera and watercolour paints, coloured pencils, chalk and oil pastels, as well as pen and ink on various paper types. Some mixed-media and collage techniques will be explored. Detailed demonstrations and step-by-step instructions from teacher Oksana Slonevskaya will guide students to try various styles and techniques of art creation. Students will learn some art vocabulary, art history, and will be encouraged to experiment and make their own choices on composition, shape, and colour. Inspirational ideas will be based on world renowned artists! No previous experience, required (open to all levels). Three dimensional forms will be explored. They will experiment with mixed media drawing and painting, and examine material, shape, space, texture, and color. Students will be encouraged to apply personal inspirations and influences on their art creation process as they develop skills and build confidence. All levels of artists are welcome to attend. Experience ARTrageous fun designing different arts and crafts projects each week. These hands on fun Saturday mornings will have you exploring, creating, drawing and painting. All supplies included. In this exciting class students will make crafts using a wide variety of materials including paper, plastic, paper mache, rocks, beads, clay and wood.
