SYNTHETIC FIELDS UPDATE Construction at the new synthetic field complex at Telosky Stadium is now well underway with most of the excavation work, drainage and base preparation work being completed over the winter and spring. When complete, this new facility will have two synthetic softball diamonds, overlapping synthetic soccer fields, new LED sports lighting for all four diamonds and a new washroom and fieldhouse building. A new synthetic field at Golden Ears Elementary and Arthur Peake Centre is now open. This multi-sport soccer and lacrosse field is the newest synthetic field for our community and features LED sports lighting, a shock pad, odourless engineered infill made from new material and an expanded parking area for sports users. In addition, the synthetic turf field at Samuel Robertson Technical Secondary School, Rotary Field was replaced in time for the fall and winter sports season. BLANEY HAMLET PARK A new neighbourhood park will open in the Blaney Hamlet area of Silver Valley. Park features include a nature inspired playground area with a water play feature, climbing stump, walking trails, sports court, a reconstructed stream and open grassed area.
