MAPLE RIDGE IN BLOOM

As they say spring showers bring May flowers! One Maple Ridge resident who loved his flowers was Jim Pazarena. He had a passion for raising dahlias which became somewhat of a tourist attraction for visitors headed to Maple Ridge Park or Alouette Lake in the 1940s, positioned as it was on Dewdney Trunk and 232nd. He received many orders for his dahlia tubers which were sent across North America.
