Babysitting promises to deepen and enhance the responsibility that older youth feel when caring for younger children. This updated curriculum, complete with new science, also provides improved learning when it comes to giving appropriate care in the event of an emergency. Please bring a doll to class. It will also cover how to identify, avoid and respond to cyber bullying and how to get the most out of the internet while staying safe. This is not a technical or software computer course. The topic of internet safety will be covered through interactive, non-threatening and entertaining lessons. If your child is spending time at home alone while you are busy running errands or working, this course will provide the skills needed for them to safely look after themselves. Interactive lessons and scenarios will help you and your children feel more confident when they stay at home alone. Participants will learn how to plan a safe route to and from school, who to go to for help along the route, what to do if approached by a stranger, pedestrian, bicycle, skateboard, and rollerblade safety.
