Did you know that when you are standing in front of the ACT in

Memorial Peace Park, you are standing where the Agricultural Fair Grounds were from 1909 until 1968? Before becoming home to our city’s culture core, the downtown square was where Aggie Hall and the annual Fall Fair, now Country Fest, was held. After 1968, it was moved to Albion where it is still held today. So next time you are in the park just imagine the parades of cows, sheep, apples and all kinds of agricultural products being shown for judging right there in downtown!
