INTRODUCING NEW ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE AT PORT HANEY HOUSE AARON S. MORAN Aaron S. Moran is an award-winning artist and operator of the press Poor Quality. His sculptures, site-specific works and photographs have been exhibited locally, and internationally. In 2011, he held a year-long artist residency at the Ranger Station Gallery in Harrison Hot Springs where he programmed workshops for primary and secondary students, seniors, as well as maintained the attached community art gallery. He has worked at the University of the Fraser Valley and the University of Windsor in the areas of sculpture, printmaking, and interdisciplinary media. More information on his website. TARYN HUBBARD Taryn Hubbard is a writer curious about place and technology. Her poetry, fiction, reviews, and interviews have been published in magazines and anthologies across Canada. Her first book, Desire Path, is available now from Talonbooks. Visit her website for more details. COLLABORATORS As collaborators, they produce site-specific and gallery-based art works that respond to their surroundings. Their vision is to ignite conversation and art-making participation in themes related to the environment, particularly through a lens that looks at the intersection of the suburban place, transportation, development, nature and technology. Their proposal, “Double Take”, will use temporary artworks at different sites around the community to enhance and reflect on the spaces we see everyday. USING NATURAL MATERIALS TO CREATE ART OUTSIDE | ONLINE DIGITAL RECORDING AND SELF-DIRECTED Colourful leaves, grass clippings, sticks, rocks, wild flowers—theseeasy-to-findnaturalmaterials formthebasisof funandwaste-freeoutdoor artworks thatwill decomposeagain into the environment once finished.  Participantswill followalong at home usingmaterials found in their backyards or in public spaces based on their texture, colour and shape.
