THE LITTLE LIBRARY OFWHAT? ONLINE DIGITAL RECORDING, MAILAND LIMITED IN-PERSON PROGRAM

ARTIST IN RESIDENCE

The "Little Library of What?" is a community project by artist Natalie Leduc where all citizens (no matter their age or ability) have the opportunity to write a book and share it with the community for FREE! Everyone is welcome to participate. The books that are submitted will have a copy placed in a "little library" located at the Fern Crescent Artist Residence location and a second copy will be included in a mobile library that will travel to schools, retirement homes, community events and the Maple Ridge Library. Want to participate in a different way? No problem! You can write, illustrate, edit and/or bind books. If you do decide to write, there is plenty of flexibility in terms of style, format, content, language and pace.

The "Little Library of What?" project will begin during Culture Days September 25 - October 25 and be completed by December 2020.

PUMPKINOTRON 340 | ONLINE DIGITAL RECORDING AND SELF-DIRECTED The Pumpkinotron 340 is a community art project by Natali Leduc. The goal is to create a giant display of carved and illuminated pumpkins as part of this year's Celebrate the Night (October 25) and Culture Days (September 25 - October 25), both of which will be celebrated in new ways due to the current pandemic. At the beginning of the summer, Natali invited members of the community of all ages to grow pumpkins in their yard. This fall, residents are invited to carve the pumpkins grown in the community with power tools to be part of this giant display. Safe handling of tools will be taught. It is free but you do need to register by writing to natalile@telus.net before October 10 as space is limited. This project will be done remotely and instructions will be given via video. The completed installation will be available for viewing on the lawn of the Residence at 23740 Fern Crescent for up to one week starting October 25. You can follow this project and others on Facebook at facebook.com/FernCrescent Contact Natali Leduc at natalile@telus.net if you have further questions.
