GLAZE CHEMISTRY LECTURE WITH EMILY SHEPPARD Age: 18Y+ Demystify glaze chemistry and learn to speak the language of ceramic surfaces in this engaging and exploratory talk. Learn what makes up a glaze and how to troubleshoot the safety of vitrified surfaces for various cone ranges. Bring along a vessel you love, a piece that didn’t turn out quite as planned or simply an object that has sparked your curiosity. Emily Sheppard will run through common ingredients, their uses and effects on glazes and how you can simplify your at-home set up to make glazes more approachable and safer. GET A HANDLE ON HANDLES Age: 18Y+ Elevate your ceramic forms through the art of handle making. In this focused workshop, students will explore a variety of handle styles, production methods, and attachment techniques through in-depth discussion, demonstrations, and hands-on practice. The goal is to help each participant develop handles that complement their personal aesthetic and fit their preferred making process. This workshop is intended for students who have completed at least one ceramics course. Participants are encouraged to prepare a leather-hard cylinder for the second class for applying and testing handles, though practice forms will also be provided. By the end of the workshop, students will have a stronger understanding of handle design and the confidence to incorporate successful attachment strategies into their own ceramic work. PRINTMAKING PATTERNS Age: 19Y+

Do you like repetition, patterns, and colours? Then this printmaking evening is for you: create your own Lino stamp, and test how even simple shapes can combine and expand into complex patterns. Bring your stamp back home and keep on playing on as many surfaces as you’d like. Possibilities are endless!
These 19+ Thursday evening workshops provide a creative space for individuals to explore various artistic mediums and techniques under the guidance of a professional artist. Each session includes instruction, supplies, and one complimentary beverage from the event bar. WATERCOLOR CAT - MEDITATIVE EXPERIMENTS IN WATERCOLOR FLOW Age: 19Y+ Immerse yourself in watercolor’s magical, authentic flow in this fun, hands-on workshop. Starting with a step-by-step guided demonstration by the instructor Surnoor Singh, participants will have the rest of the session to experiment and create their own unique versions of the watercolour cat. Perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike.

#101829 HANDMADE CERAMIC PHOTO FRAME Age: 19Y+ Spend the evening building and decorating your own personalized ceramic photo frame out of clay. In this workshop, participants will be cutting and attaching ceramic slabs together to create a custom photo frame. Participants will then be able to bring their frames to life by decorating with underglaze paints. Projects will be fired, clear glazed, & available for pick-up three weeks post workshop.

Unwind with a glass of wine and discover the relaxing beauty of watercolour painting in this beginner-friendly class. Participants will paint an island off the shores of Tofino, one of British Columbia’s most iconic coastal destinations. No previous painting experience is necessary! You’ll be guided step-by-step through the entire process, creating soft washes, blending, layering and detail work. By the end of the evening, you’ll leave with your own beautiful West Coast landscape and the confidence to continue exploring watercolour painting at home. All materials are provided; just bring your creativity and willingness to paint.
