Maple Ridge Fast Facts Maple Ridge was incorporated as a District Municipality in 1874, which made the community British Columbia’s fifth-oldest municipality. In 2014, Maple Ridge upgraded its status to a city. Currently Maple Ridge has a population of 92,000. The city has a number of historical neighbourhoods, each of which is associated with a significant cultural

group or historical event. These unique areas include Albion, Haney (downtown), Iron Mountain, Kanaka Creek, Port Hammond, Ruskin, Silver Valley, Thornhill, Websters Corners, Whonnock and Yennadon.
