Dance Party Juniors Age: 5Y-8Y
This is the perfect class for your lively, energized child who is ready to jazz- it-up on the dance floor. In this class, all dancers will be introduced to the dance style “Jazz” in a creative and welcoming environment. A fun and creative outlet for students to socially interact and develop coordination, rhythm, and strength, all while moving and grooving to the music in socially distanced marked areas. Musicality and self-expression are encouraged as children learn new moves along with exercising, improving their coordination and developing an appreciation for movement through dance.Students will dance in their own space,distanced from others, in our large dance studio. Students will explore animation principles as they experiment with timing, follow through, exaggeration, anticipations, and squash and stretch as we create characters and bring them to life. We will explore simple walk cycles, expression changes and storytelling as we animate using computers. Students will experiment with free hand computer drawings, photo manipulations, typography, and video manipulations as we study fine art and artists as an inspiration and use computers to create digital art. While moving to music in socially distanced marked areas, imagination, motor skills, self-esteem and social interaction are developed. Prerequisite required: Intro to Ballet for Preschoolers. Three year olds may take part with permission in advance from the instructor if they meet the prerequisite. Theatrix: Musical Theatre Junior Level Age: 6Y-9Y
Musical Theatre is a one-stop imagination station for those interested in singing, dancing and acting. Over ten weeks, young thespians will learn a mini-musical production that will be filmed and sent to families.This class is made possible through our partnership with Theatrix.
