HOME LEARNERS Hand Building Clay Art (Home Learners) Age: 6Y-12Y

Young artists will learn a variety of hand-building techniques: pinching, coiling and slab construction. Students will also learn how to create surface decoration and explore colour by working with underglazes and low-fire glazes. Get creative with fun projects and see what amazing things you can make with this great material as you explore shape and design. All supplies included. No class Family Day, February 21. Children explore different ways of folding, pleating, wrapping, tying and clamping fabrics to produce colourful patterns. They also learn about printing methods by making their own stamps and layering on to their dyed fabrics, creating exciting results. Experiment on paper, yardage and a few different fabric items such as bandanas, t-shirts, and bags. Drawing, Painting and Mixed Media Visual Arts for Home Learners Age: 6Y-12Y

The key to successful art creation is knowledge of colour theory, perspective and basic rules of composition. Students in this class will explore these concepts, as well as different medias and techniques and will learn from inspiring artists. Most projects in these classes will be based on mixed-media techniques. At the beginning of each project Oksana Slonevskaya will facilitate a live demonstration and work with students on open ended questions to bring ideas and concepts to life.
