The Canadian Red Cross Babysitting course covers everything from managing difficult behaviours to essential content on leadership and professional conduct as a babysitter. Babysitting promises to deepen and enhance the responsibility that older youth feel when caring for younger children. This curriculum also provides improved learning when it comes to giving appropriate care in the event of an emergency. Please bring a doll or stuffed animal to class. The CyberSafe Internet Safety program focuses on teaching kids how to recognize warning signs, safe and unsafe situations, and the skills needed to make safe choices. It will also cover how to identify, avoid and respond to cyber bullying and how to get the most out of the course. The topic of internet safety will be covered through interactive, non-threatening and entertaining lessons. Participants will learn how to plan a safe route to and from school, who to go to for help along the route, what to do if approached by a stranger, pedestrian, bicycle, skateboard, and rollerblade safety.
