Mental Health Awareness Join the BC Municipal Safety Association during Mental Health Week (May 2 – 8, 2022) as they present this 4-hour workshop, which is designed to help build comfort in talking about mental health and mental illness, and learn how to respond in a supportive way to co-workers who may be experiencing a mental illness. This workshop begins by building an understanding of the continuum of mental health, the various mental health issues, and the risk and protective factors that influence our current state of mental health. It uses personal stories to help build awareness of what it is like to experience mental illnesses like anxiety disorders or depression at work. Participants will have the opportunity to
TheWorking Mind The Working Mind is an evidence-based program designed to promote mental health and reduce the stigma around mental illness in the workplace. This virtual course is designed to: • Increase your awareness of mental health; • Reduce stigma and other barriers to care in the workplace; • Encourage mental health conversations; • Strengthen your resilience in order to maintain wellness; • Help you support yourself and others The course will give you the practical knowledge you need to: • support your employees’ mental health and well-being • enable all employees to be more fully productive • ensure the workplace climate respects and involves all employees, including those with mental health problems • encourage employees to seek help for mental health problems. This course is delivered by a certified facilitator and offers easily applied scenario-based lessons, videos that feature people with lived experience of mental illness, reference guides, and practical handouts.
