Creativity and Coding Age: 9Y-14Y

This course is full of wearable items that you can paint or print on. Create a tie-dye shirt, silkscreen on a tote bag and have fun making beads for necklaces and bracelets. Please bring a solid white or light coloured cotton t-shirt. Lunch supervision provided. Students in Novice Band Camp will forge new musical friendships with other youth who love what they love, enjoy clinics with professional musicians from Vancouver, and lots of engaging musical repertoire! This program is intended for students who will be continuing to develop and refine their musical skills in an exciting and dynamic environment. This camp is for students who have 1-2 years of experience playing an instrument (typically having completed their first or second year of band at their elementary, middle or high school). The camp will be led by multi-instrumentalists and public school music teachers Skye Eriksen and Nicholas Renaud from Maple Meadows Music Camps, www.maplemeadowsmusic.ca. Sheet music provided, please bring your own instrument. Please let us know if you need assistance sourcing an instrument. Decorative finishes and adding fine texture will be emphasized. We will explore using underglazes and low-fire glazes to create one-of-a-kind lagoon creatures, masks, bowls, cups and more!
