In February of 2019, the newest Home Town Hero was named. Tyler O’Neill started his journey to Major League Baseball on the local ball diamonds. Tyler’s parents are shown here with the large version of the poster that will hang in all area schools.

In 2019, the newTower 1 Truck came into service to replace the former truck that served the community for over 25 years. As our City grows, the capacity to fight fires in a variety of housing forms is an important part of community safety.

Bill Archibald, one of the original ‘Haney Horsemen’ was recognized at the 2019 Heritage Awards. Bill was known affectionately as the ‘Trail Boss’. The organization has played a role in the development of over 200 km of mixed use trails in the community.

In March, we stopped in at the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre to check on the progress of this beloved facility. Work was underway to pour concrete to form the modern new beach entry for the pool deck.
