Top Left: At the beginning of June Mayor, Council and senior staff had the opportunity to visit with Brikers as part of a Business Walk program to get face-to-face meetings with the business leaders in the community. Middle Left: June is the annual graduation for the Maple Ridge Fire Department’s Youth Academy program. This special work experience program has been in place since 2000 as a way to expose high school students to the training and work required to be a firefighter. Bottom Left: The giant Canadian flag is an iconic part of Maple Ridge’s Canada Day celebration. Here’s some of the members of the Fire Department Honour Guard who are part of the formal ceremonies to mark the start of the festival. Top Right: Karina LeBlanc was surrounded by youth soccer players as part of the field dedication ceremony in June of 2018 (see page 34 for more details) Bottom Right: Memorial Peace Park was filled with people of all ages participating in the annual Canada Day celebration. Music, dance, activities, cultural displays and great food were a central focus for this celebration.
